The Cape of Good Hope is feared by many sailors, because of the several cliffs near tip of Africa. The shore stretches a rock formation that extends under the water of the sea. Most rocks are only 50 cm to 3 meters below the water surface. It is the point most southwest of Southern africa and not the southernmost point of Africa (which is the Cape Agulhas).
