Safety Information - Cape Town Shark Diving in South Africa

Safety Cape Town Shark Diving

All ships in our fleet, steel cages, and medical equipment are inspected by government agencies on a regular basis. Before a tour stats, you will also receive an introduction to how you should behave above or when in the cage.

You will enjoy a small breakfast and a good cup of coffee before we drive towards the harbour. The ship is checked for safety on land before its then lowered onto the water ready for the tour to start. You will be given your own life jacket and a staff member will explain all the rules while on the tour as well as further emergency and safety equipment.

All efforts go to make sure that all safety equipment is always the state of the art.

In addition, our ship also has state-of-the-art navigational equipment and our medical equipment includes fluid and oxygen exchange. Our life jackets are modern and self-inflating.

Always working in close partnership with the Western Cape Paramedic Services, there is a 24-hour rescue service with helicopters.

Our employees are well-trained and equipped to make decisions in an emergency. A rescue ship for 54 people is also on stand-by.

The Ministry of Environment and Tourism has put in strict rules and measures which we follow to a point to make sure all visitors are safe.

With a modern boat, as soon as we hit our destination on the ocean, we pull the engines out of the water so they do not place any danger to the great white sharks.

Annually, all boats are checked by the state authority to ensure safety. This also includes the rescue equipment, the rescue ship and the steel cage.
