This very luxurious and tastefully decorated villa is situated on the slopes of the Twelve Apostles mountain range in the exclusive suburb of Hout Bay. It overlooks the breathtakingly spectacular panorama of the South African Cape Peninsula and the ocean beyond, and is within easy driving distance of the Cape Town city centre, Cape Point (reachable via the majestic Chapman's Peak Drive) and the famous beaches of Camps Bay, Llandudno and Clifton. Indigenous vegetation spans over the 4000m² large garden which emulates the most famous and legendary garden in the Cape - The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
The exclusive 'Out of Africa' feeling
The exterior of this Hout Bay villa reflects a Cape Dutch and colonial British style. White walls with large windows and a high thatch-covered roof harmonize perfectly with the interior of the villa and make the most of the fantastic scenery enjoyable on all sides. The villa is decorated in earth tones and African materials as evident in the fine leathers, canvassing, silks, animal skins, noble wooden furnishings as well as in the linen; all combining to create a defined antique, artistic and stylish design throughout the house.
Where possible this luxurious Hout Bay villa was constructed using only local building materials. The thatch roof comes from the Blue Gum Tree, a tree found nowadays more in Australia and smelling of eucalyptus. This exquisite aroma flows through the entire house and this, together with the characteristic way the house has been furnished, gives this villa an unmistakable flair.
The double-storey 400m² house, with its African-antique interior, offers a complete range of technical equipment, such as wireless Internet, a printer, television, DVD, under-floor heating and much more. A full range of services include a manageress, a domestic maid, garden- and pool services, secure garage parking and even a wine cellar.
There are four generous suites (three of which have en-suite bathrooms), each with unique views, high-class furnishings and a separate entrance to the balcony, garden or the terrace. Every bedroom has a safe as well as a hairdryer and bath robes - even for the children! A children's bed is available on request.
The spacious main bedroom is situated on the top floor of the house and has a great view of the Constantia Berg and the Chapman’s Peak mountains from the balcony. There is a king-size bed and a dressing room, an en-suite bathroom with bathtub, two hand basins as well as a separate shower to complete a feeling of luxurious living.
The large second en-suite bedroom is situated in the lower part of the house where guests have direct access to the pool and the garden area. The suite consists of a king-size bed and a large en-suite bathroom with two hand basins and a shower fitting in perfectly with the style of this bedroom. The direct connection to the open-plan kitchen and dining room area, as well as the spectacular view of the Constantia Mountains, are all great attributes to this suite.
The third bedroom has a separate bathroom and is also situated in the lower part of the house. It has direct access to the pool and garden area and has spectacular Constantia Berg mountain views. The suite has a queen-size bed and the bathroom has a bath and hand basins.
The fourth bedroom is situated on the ground-floor, a mere five steps from the pool and terrace areas. This spacious bedroom has a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with hand basins as well as a shower area. From this room you will be able to watch the scenery of the Bay and the Sentinel.
Whilst the sleeping quarters are individually structured, the rest of the living areas are also very spacious in size – including the thatch roof. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and the generous dining room has an open fireplace and a large dining room table which can seat up to ten persons. It can also easily be transformed into one of two business meeting areas.
The pool, terrace and garden areas are reachable in only a few steps creating a great flow and a feeling of well-being. Particularly with the majestic views of the mountains and ocean beyond!
The large panoramic lounge windows open onto a spacious balcony where guests can enjoy an extremely beautiful view of the Hout Bay valley and bay, the Constantia Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, Kommetjie as well as a rear close-up view of the Twelve Apostles. One can almost visually recognise every protea, every rockface, every darting dassie and mountain buck! The lounge can be converted into a second business meeting room – the manageress will gladly arrange for any special equipment required for these meetings.
Many conveniences are provided to ensure guests' maximum comfort including two open fireplaces, exclusive original African artworks and modern technical equipment including LCD-television (including German programmes), a DVD-player in every room, a central remote controlled music Hi-fi with iPod and four extra speakers, a 42 inch plasma TV in the TV lounge, telephone and internet excess (ADSL, WLAN), Skype connection and under-floor heating (which is a blessing on cooler days). There is a chlorine-free salt water swimming pool, a large terrace, balconies and a large park-like garden.
The kitchen is open-plan and has an adjacent scullery with dishwasher, fridge & freezer with ice-making machine, gas stove with baking oven, a separate wine fridge, microwave, a Saeco coffee machine, all the latest kitchen utensils, a picnic basket with all the necessities, additional backpacks (rucksacks) and much more.
