Visitors have a choice between two exclusive types of accommodation. You can opt to stay in stylish and smart suites in the estate's gracious and elegant Cape colonial architectural style Manor House metres away from the serene lake. Alternatively you can choose to spend your time by making the romantic and stylish wooden chalets, built on stilts in the lake, your holiday home with a distinct difference. During your stay, you can cool off in the estate's private, fresh-water lake on a balmy summer's day or alternatively try a spot of fishing, row out onto the water or enjoy a leisurely ride on a pedal boat on the lake.

Visitors also have the opportunity to experience first-hand the area's amazing array of bird- and plantlife. Another option is to simply sit quietly next to the lake and forget all about the daily stresses whilst drinking in the tranquil surroundings. Guests who need to be in real-time touch with family, friends and business contacts can also do so if they so wish – wireless Internet connections are available to guests. More about the two types of accommodation below.

Superior Suites

The main Lodge is built in the traditional Cape colonial architectural style and nestles in the lush and abundant garden, only metres away from the tranquil lake. The Lodge houses four spacious and superior personalised suites of splendid quality.

Each suite has its own entrance as well as a private covered verandah where visitors can enjoy some quality time out to enjoy the vista that offers sweeping views across the lake and towards Table Mountain. Covered terraces lead you into the leafy garden where you can relax and breathe in the fresh air and exceptional surrounding natural beauty.

The restful suites are stylishly decorated with hand-picked, luxurious materials and handmade quality wooden furniture, combined with rich and welcoming colours and attention to every detail. Italian stucco walls in sandy colours add to the soothing atmosphere while underfloor heating enhances to the five-star experience.

The Superior Suites are fitted with designer bathrooms boasting extra large walk-in showers for the utmost comfort. In addition the suites are also each fitted with a modern kitchen counter with exclusive appliances to allow visitors to cater for meals and also many tempting meal options from the surrounding restaurants all offering top cuisine. There are four two-roomed luxury Suites for two people sharing and some are available to families with one or two children who will be sharing the suite with their parents.

Luxury Chalets

These romantic wooden chalets are built on stilts in the water. The chalets, decorated in fresh and natural hues, are connected to the land by a small bridge, leaving visitors staying in the chalets the opportunity to savour the experience of being removed from land whilst residing indulgently. Staying in the chalets means you are surrounded by calming and tranquil water. In addition you also have the luxury of magnificent views towards the Helderberg mountains on the one side and all the way to Cape Town's landmark Table Mountain on the other side. You can enjoy these views while relaxing on the chalets' private decks, fitted out with comfortable sunloungers.

The chalets offer five-star comforts such as underfloor heating, air-conditioners to make sure you are always ultra-comfortable in winter and summer, as well as carefully designed modern bathrooms fitted with modern appliances and elegant finishes. You can relish the spectacular sunsets reflected on the mountain range and the surrounding lake right on the water's edge while staying in these chalets. Each of the chalets sleeps two people in a one-roomed en-suite accommodation. All the chalets are equipped with an open plan kitchenette furnished with modern appliances to allow guests the freedom of preparing their own light meals on those days that they simply want to lie in and just lounge around on the water's edge.

To accommodate younger visitors, a colourful and safe playground with a trampoline has been created. Children can enjoy themselves in the playground without disturbing other guests who take pleasure in the tranquility.

Scrumptious "sunny side up" breakfasts are served on the garden terrace overlooking the garden and the lake or in the sun-drenched breakfast room on chilly days. Guests can enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast buffet on offer, the perfect start to yet another magical day.

All the chalets and the elegant suites are also equipped with a small kitchenette that will allow guests who prefer to stay in their own space for meals, to prepare light meals. A nearby superb restaurant with several national and international accolades to its name is a very short walk away with many other top class eating establishments also within close distance. All of this will ensure that guests will also remember fondly for the culinary delights they enjoyed while staying there.

Birdwatchers have as much to enjoy during their stay. The estate offers access to and views of an immense variety of different indigenous birds that can be spotted on and around the lake.

The area is also home to a variety of indigenous and other plants and visitors can savour the floral abundance it offers. The estate lies in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom botanical region that is rich in "fynbos". Only five other floral kingdoms are internationally recognised, and these cover huge areas such as the whole of Australia and most of the northern hemisphere. The Cape Floral Kingdom is the world's smallest and richest floral kingdom and has the highest known concentration of plant species: 1 300 per 10 000 km².

Given all its superb and personalised facilities, it's no wonder that this estate has been nominated as South African "Resort of the Year" several times during the past few years. This is proof of the establishment's first-rate quality standards.
The accommodation offers the discerning visitor an unbeatable combination of breathtaking and unspoilt nature and a true taste of the leisurely South African lifestyle combined with the exacting and welcoming standards of its Swiss owners' hospitality.
